WHY ZERO? - ALLAN ABANI

Allan Abani self portrait

The pandemic made it difficult for all of us create, to keep being productive.

A few years ago I had the idea to create my own Fashion magazine, but I didn’t have the energy, the time nor the knowledge to make it happen.

Here I am, in 2021, living in Tokyo and finally taking action and putting this project on priority despite the current situation.

I guess you all want to know why I decided that “ZERO” will be the name of this magazine. Well, I am a firm believer of giving chances to people and ideas when they start from nothing, that we can all build something great even when people don’t believe in us.

It took a full year to release this first issue. Building ZERO during the pandemic was challenging. I tried to build a magazine that I would buy for myself and I hope you will enjoy it too.

Today is the starting point of this magazine and there are so many people I am thankful for, people who worked hard to make this project see the light.

Special thanks to Shioli Kutsuna, Tony Revolori, Ashton Sumihara, Matthew Hernon, Rena Semba, Takayuki Shibata, Patrick Mason, Tarek Mawad, Annemarie Sterian, Ai Ikegami and Sev Collazo.
